Fonterra asked us to develop a website to promote their new SupaShake flavoured milk products. They had the clever idea of running a competition to get their customers to choose a new flavour for their range.
We came up with a special blend of social and viral marketing, online video promotion, contemporary design, animation and premium web development for the promotion.
The website featured a competition encouraging visitors to vote for their favourite flavour, and for this we used video integration, email marketing and social marketing. For example, Facebook and Twitter were used to publicise the competition and interactive tools were placed around the site to engage users. A mobile website was produced to cope with the volume of browsers using mobile devices.
For the design, we came up with a different look for each promoter, without departing from the company's branding and overall site design. We also added a blog feature to capture the journey of the promoters.
The promotion resulted in a large increase in site traffic, and a huge jump in the level of customer engagement. Facebook fans increased to 3500 and 17,000 votes were cast in the competition, allowing Fonterra's target demographic to choose its new product line.
